In Hebrew, the name means “joyful bazaar,” a perfect representation of Israeli chef Assaf Granit’s philosophy. Granit has given the bracing freshness of southern Mediterranean cuisine a refined new twist. Set in the ground floor of the Renaissance Paris-Vendôme Hotel, on a small street that has long been a foodie destination, Balagan’s interiors are sophisticated and graphic, but entirely inviting. A boudoir-style cocktail bar adjoins the restaurant, serving a constantly-updating drinks menu designed to accompany Granit’s cuisine.
