Hundreds of bottles from small producers are the highlight of La Compagnie Flatiron, with a nod to French and American estates served by a team of sommeliers passionate about the liquid in each glass and the stories behind the vines. More than just a wine bar in midtown Manhattan, each evening is an immersion into wine where events range from the legendary Jurassic Park Jura wine party, a continuation of Wine Boot Camp and a daily Mystery Wine. Chosen to perfectly match the vast selection of wine, a menu of hyper-local and inventive seasonal snacks are created by chef partner Alexia Duchêne whose menu showcase French ingredients through simple yet elevated dishes designed to accentuate a fine selection of Burgundies and Bordeaux, Barolos and Brunellos, and even old Californian and other American vintages.
Downstairs, a subterranean secret is hidden away. After a glass of wine, discover the New York outpost of the iconic Parisian cocktail bar, Experimental Cocktail Club.

Chef Alexia Duchêne joins Experimental Cocktail Club and La Compagnie Centre Street and Flatiron as Consulting Chef, bringing a rich culinary background rooted in French tradition and creativity. Her seasonal menu showcases French ingredients through simple yet elevated dishes designed to complement the bars’ wine and cocktail programmes. Launching on Sunday, November 8, at Experimental*’s New York locations, her menus bring a fresh perspective to the group’s bars, creating a new way for guests to gather around the table and enjoy French-inspired food, wine, and cocktails.
Design
Come for the design, stay for the wine
Renowned designer, Dorothée Meilichzon, has imagined a bespoke setting for La Compagnie Flatiron, keeping the rough New York brickwork and original parquet flooring, bringing in natural materials and light. The place pays homage to wine, earth, and nature, with strong symbols drawn on the banquettes and the walls by French artist Clovis Retif. The moon is present both on the fabrics, in prints on the lime, and in the alabaster that imitates its surface so well. A marble, leather, and bronze counter is divided into three sections, with a central part that becomes a communal experience.
