Where it all began,
a cocktail bar in the heart of Paris
When three childhood friends stumbled on an empty storefront on the quaint rue Saint-Sauveur in Paris’ Montorgueil neighbourhood, a vision of the future materialised before their eyes. A space unloved, destined to be their first cocktail bar. What they did not know was that they were writing a new page on Parisian hospitality, a city where cocktail bars didn’t exist in 2007. The space came to life, as if it had always been there. Soft light and exposed brick walls, a zinc bar top aged to perfection. The palpable feeling of an underground hideaway.
Experimental Cocktail Club was instantly filled with people falling in love with gin, rum and tequila, one cocktail at a time. Soon, Experimental Cocktail Club became the epicentre of a phenomenon that would transform Paris’ nightlife through accessible prices and audacious combinations, quality ingredients and respectful informality.

Experimental Sounds in Paris
Behind discreet doors, the evening stirs. Easing into the night with balanced beats, sound carefully curated to set the tone. A hint of soul, something familiar, a touch of disco. As the night continues, the beat develops exploring deep house from behind the DJ booth.
An evolution of music through the evening, deepening as the sky grows dark. A soundtrack to accompany cocktails, subtle and immersive. The night brought to life with resident DJs Sokrates, Roman Kouder, Jordy and Hector.
Design
Come for the design, stay for a drink
Before the summer of 2007, nights were spent exploring New York. A chance encounter with avant-garde designer Cuoco Black turned into partnership.
He brought a touch of Manhattan interpreted with Parisian flare, where low slung sofas, exposed brick, stunning chandeliers and antiques found in attics were an invitation to linger. In 2025, designer Dorothée Meilichzon revisited the design, giving new life to the space whilst retaining a New York state of mind.
