Welcome to la Compagnie St Germain, our wine bar in the heart of Paris
A wine bar tucked away in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés, a treasure trove for hard-to-find French wine and sought after bottles from natural winemakers. Welcome to the original La Compagnie, first opened in 2011. Behind the doors on rue Lobineau, a tribute to the iconic drink, arriving to each table in garnet and honey- coloured hues. Designer Dorothée Meilichzon revisited the design in 2024 imbuing the space with a splash of texture, mirrored surfaces and intricate pattern bringing along graphic designer Clovis Rétif to add a few finishing touches. Inside, afternoon settles in and evening takes over, inviting guests hide away in discreet corners, pausing with a bottle of wine on the table and snacks to share over hushed conversation. A veritable gem to discover, right in centre of Paris.

Originally named La Compagnie des Vins Surnaturals, it was a mischievous nod to the surge of natural wines and embracing the idea that great wines are gifts of nature transformed by producers. Now referred to simply at La Compagnie, the iconic wine bar in Saint-Germain-des-Prés offers a wide selection of wines, often reaching 800 different references of red, white and champagne alongside small sharing plates.

Come for the design, stay for the wine
Awash with colour, texture and wood-panelled walls, designer Dorothée Meilichzon revisited the original La Compagnie giving it a new air of elegance and sophistication. Mirrored surfaces reflect natural light, a burnt orange carpet adds warmth and natural exposed brick walls recall the chill of a wine cellar tucked away. Low-slung sofas are an invitation to linger longer, and a curved wooden bar invites conversation about discreet winemakers and journeys through undiscovered vineyards.

Our space can host up to 60 guests for a private event, or we can reserve a smaller space for groups. Leave it with us, and our team will ensure your glasses are filled and guests leave with fond memories of the day.
