Tucked away in the countryside, our restaurant at Cowley Manor Experimental is a haven for guests and the local community alike. At the helm is celebrated British chef Jackson Boxer whose menu embraces the local area, with a touch of fine dining and a nod to our French roots.

Our Menu

A moment to pause over Warm Single Gloucester & Truffle Gougères, a decadent bite of Old Spot Pork Croquettes. Jackson Boxer's iconic Fresh Tagliolini with Cornish Crab and Pickled Chilli, or delicate Bibury Trout to continue. Each dish unpretentious, yet memorable. A place to return to again and again, for cocktails, dinner or lunch. A place where time is frozen, much like the fate of Carroll’s White Rabbit, where there is simply no time to do anything else but sit back, relax and enjoy.

A nod to tradition with Afternoon Tea and a classic Sunday Roast. Our Afternoon Tea is served on a tower toppling with delicate pastries and finger sandwiches in our dining room or on the terrace, offering panoramic garden views. Our Sunday Roast is a local favourite, a vision of Jackson Boxer as told through meat from nearby farmers and herbs and vegetables plucked straight from our gardens.

JACKSON BOXER X EXPERIMENTAL

From a childhood spent in the kitchen, to a life making a career out of incredible cooking, Jackson Boxer worked for the likes of Margot Henderson during his formative years and then took the helm of Brunswick House, at the ripe age of 24. Since then, Jackson has opened Orasay, now Dove, in Notting Hill, JB at the Corner in Selfridges and Henri at Henrietta Experimental. At Cowley Manor Experimental, Jackson’s weaves local produce with a Gallic nod, using Gloucestershire’s finest offerings, and our herbs, fruit and vegetables grown in our very own garden.

Jackon Boxer's Sunday Roast

A tradition revisited. The iconic Sunday Roast interpreted by chef Jackson Boxer, a tapestry woven with local products and seasonal produce. A Celery & Parmesan Soup to begin. A delicate Wood Fired Trout, the decadence of a Roast Hereford Beef Wellington to continue. And to finish, local cheese with Cowley crackers. A Sunday done right, in the heart of the Cotswolds.

A journey that started in Paris, in the summer of 2007. A bar on a quiet street, the start of Paris’ cocktail renaissance. As the years went on, new chapters turned, from new cities, to restaurants and finally hotels. Today, Experimental can be found across Paris, London, New York, Venice, Verbier, Val d’Isere, Ibiza, Menorca and out in the British countryside. Each location inspired by the world around it.
