Nestled in the centre of Paris, at the crossroads of the 2nd and the 9th arrondissements, Grands Boulevards Experimental is a hidden gem discreetly tucked away from plain sight boasting 50 rooms, a restaurant and two cocktail bars.

Situated in the 2nd arrondissement, just a stone's throw from some of Paris' most iconic landmarks including Opéra Garnier, Palais Royal and the charm of the Marais, our boutique hotel stands as a testament to the city's rich past, erected shortly before the tumultuous French Revolution on the foundations of a secret garden.

Today, down a long passageway that was once home to a verdant garden, Grands Boulevards Experimental unfolds, coming to life as an impressive, elegant building centred at a unique place in Parisian geography and history. Designed by Dorothée Meilichzon in an iconic 18th-century building, the hotel features 50 bedrooms and suites, a restaurant under a towering glass roof with Giovanni Passerini at the helm and two cocktail bars, including one on the rooftop overlooking the streets of Paris below.

Recognised for its unique charm and exceptional hospitality, Grands Boulevards Experimental was awarded the One Michelin Key 2024 in the Michelin Guide France Hotel list.

A hotel comes to life

Grands Boulevards Experimental is a boutique hotel featuring 50 rooms designed by Dorothée Meilizchon. The building dates back to before the French Revolution, erected on the foundation of an old garden with an interior that balances romanticism & aristocracy with a nod to the mischievous. Initially offices and apartments mirroring the elegance of early 20th-century Paris, it embraced cinematic culture, transforming into a cinema that saw the creation of its patio in the 1920s. In its current iteration, the 4-star hotel opened in 2018 and is one of the last buildings set back from the boulevard, offering a sense of entering a tranquil oasis.

The neighbourhood is in the vibrant centre of Paris, home to theatres, bars and classic Parisian cafés. Discover the iconic Bourse cherished by the Surrealists, the Faubourg Montmartre with its theatres, the Faubourg Poissonnière with its restaurants and Strasbourg Saint-Denis with streets that never sleep. Steps away, Le Grand Rex cinema is an icon of Art Deco architecture.
